Our council hosts a Soccer Shootout Competition every October. Parish school kids age 9 - 14 both in our school and in CCD are welcome. Competition takes place right after dismissal with time for warmups allowed.

There are medals for each of the 6 age groups. In each age group there is a boys winner and a girls winner for a total of 12 medals. And winners get to compete against winners from other parishes in the District Level competition in February. If you win at district level, you can go to Phoenix to compete in the state wide competition. If you are the only competitor in your age group - you win automatically. Parents - please encourage your kids to participate. Their friends don't want to win by default. They want some competition. A few years ago, one of our school girls took second place in her age category at the State Level Competition in Phoenix. Winners get their names in the parish bulletin. Families are welcome to come watch and cheer on their champion.
