Knights of Columbus
Bishop Francis J. Green
Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. Learn More Click Here
A painting by Italian artist Antonella Cappuccio depicts Venerable Michael McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus. In the background are 19th-century Irish immigrants outside St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn.
The Bishop Francis J Green Knights of Columbus Council 11855 was formed in 1996 when 34 men of the Saints Peter & Paul Parish came together to answer the call to service. These men joined together in Charity, Unity, and Fraternity to support the Parish, School, and larger Catholic Community.
